Marshalling® STEM (M-STEM)
In 2015 GCMIC conducted a pilot program entitled Marshalling Stem (M-STEM) program that introduced participants to the work environment in a German electronics manufacturing plant. Participants in the pilot program were interested in pursuing careers in science, technology engineering and math. They lived and shadowed with trainees at Zollner Electronik AG’s plant in Zandt, Germany. The Zollner trainees had similar experiences at EIT, LLC in Sterling, VA in August. Certain aspects of the pilot program were revised and a second pilot program was conducted in 2016. The GCMIC is seeking funding and partners for its M-STEM program and may conduct another pilot M-STEM program in 2017.
