Surrender of Japan

In recognition of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, this presentation describes the circumstances that led to the surrender of Japan on September 2, 1945.

Historian (and Marshall Center docent) Blane Ampthor describes the complicated process and events that led to Japan's surrender and the fascinating details rarely included in accounts of the momentous surrender ceremony.

This in person event will be hosted in the Haub Room of Dodona Manor in Leesburg, VA.

Open to Marshall Center Members with free admission. Seating is capped at 30 guests. RSVP required.
