Reluctant Witness: Nicholas Cresswell, “An Englishman in Loudoun” Views the American Revolution

Join us at at Dodona Manor for an afternoon of living history as you see Loudoun County in 1774-1777 through the eyes of a 24-year-old Englishman caught here by the outbreak of Revolution.

Learn about his life, travels, and observations. Virginia Piedmont Heritage Area educator and historian Travis Shaw will bring Cresswell to life through his 18th century diary, and public historians Rich and Tracy Gillespie will set the stage and walk us through the experiences Cresswell had while visiting Loudoun.


LOCATION & TICKETS

This event will be held outdoors on the lawn at Dodona Manor, Leesburg. Chairs will be provided, but guests are welcome to bring their own folding chair.

Members of the Marshall Center and their guests receive free admission. For other attendees, tickets are $10 each.
