The American Revolution: What You Did Not Learn in School – Part One

Join history enthusiast and Marshall Center Docent, Blane Ampthor for a look at several events and personalities such as the Boston Massacre, Washington's Crossing of the Delaware, Paul Revere and Benedict Arnold.  While these topics are generally known, the events will be explored in more detail, examining the misconceptions and the interesting personalities that influenced the famous events.


This event is free and open to all. It will be held in the Haub Room at Dodona Manor, Leesburg. This event space is only accessible by staircase.

BIO

Blane Ampthor is a retired federal employee with more than 36 years of service. He has had a lifelong interest in history and has read extensively on World War II, the American Revolution and ocean liners. He has taught with several Lifelong Learning Institutes and has instructed with various organizations such as the Loudoun County Public Library system in Virginia, AARP and seniors’ communities.  He enjoys visiting sites related to his interests so he can gain a fuller understanding of events.
