Great leaders don't just take charge. They lead with integrity and purpose.

The Marshall Center invites high school juniors and seniors from Northern Virginia, D.C., and Maryland to its free Ethical Leadership Conference on Tuesday, November 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Leesburg.

Through discussion and hands-on exercises, students examine their own values and discover how General Marshall shaped our nation far beyond the Marshall Plan.

Participants at our September session are already putting what they learned into action. One student wrote to tell us that just days after the event, she led a class discussion where she “made sure everyone's voice was heard” – and a classmate thanked her for helping her feel valued.

Student insights are powerful: “One idea that stayed with me [after the ELC] was when we were putting values together and how they can oppose each other at times (passion and humility, for example). I found this exercise to be very beneficial because I had never thought about how some values can counterpoint other values. It helped me understand that balance is vital in a strong leader.”

Another student commented that “the most meaningful moment during the session was when we were talking about people in our lives who exemplify Marshall’s goals and outlook on life. It was really cool to see the different people we look up to and how that has shaped their experience.”

Parents and educators, encourage a student to apply! Additional conferences are set for February 26–27 and May 7–8, 2027.
