New Video: The Next Generation of Ethical Leaders

What does ethical leadership mean to you? In this new video, high school students who recently attended Five-Star Character: The George C. Marshall Ethical Leadership Conference offer their insights and experiences gleaned from this groundbreaking leadership program.

ELC Director Pete Janhunen on the importance of promoting ethical leadership at this challenging moment in history: “You hear a lot of cynicism from adults these days about the future of the country and the kind of leaders we have. I resist that narrative and I don’t want to be cynical about the future – and I don’t need to be because the students we get to meet, the kind of conversations we have, and the quality of their characters give me great optimism for the future.”

Student Testimonials

“I’ve learned a lot not only about George Marshall, but also what it means to be an ethical leader – to put others needs and wants above your own.”

“We’ve learned about the different values of leadership and we’re also collaborating to see how we’re going to apply the values to ourselves.”

“Anyone, regardless of what they want to study in the future … should definitely apply to this conference.”

The Ethical Leadership Conference would not exist without the support of our many donors and supporters. We are deeply grateful for their generosity, which allows us to offer the conference to leaders of the future free of charge every time. “It’s just a powerful statement to those kids. It’s an investment in our future and their future and we’re so grateful for the support we’ve received,” added Janhunen.

Applications for our fall session (SEPTEMBER 29-30, 2023) are now open. Attendance for this session is capped at 20, so apply today to secure a seat!
