Boulder Crest Foundation Hosts Ethical Leadership Conference
In a special one-day session of our Ethical Leadership Conference for High School Students, the George C. Marshall International Center had the privilege of working with ten exceptional young women from military families across the Mid-Atlantic region. Hosted at the beautiful retreat center of the Boulder Crest Foundation in Clarke County, Virginia, the event offered a meaningful opportunity to share General George C. Marshall’s enduring example of leadership.
The conference centered around three core pillars drawn from Marshall’s legacy—Selfless Service, Unwavering Integrity and Visionary Leadership. These values were brought to life through stimulating discussions that encouraged participants to explore their own leadership potential while reflecting on the traditions of service exemplified by their families.
“This was an inspiring day with an inspiring group of young leaders,” said Ethical Leadership Program Director Pete Janhunen. “These impressive students are already building on the values instilled by their families and the Army, Air Force and Navy communities they have seen up close. It was an honor to guide them in exploring how General Marshall’s example can inform their own journeys.”
The event was the latest step in the Marshall Center’s ongoing collaboration with Boulder Crest Foundation, a national leader in the field of Posttraumatic Growth (PTG) and veteran well-being.
“We’re grateful to Boulder Crest for hosting this special leadership experience,” said Marshall Center Executive Director Valérie Beaudoin. “Our partnership allows us to connect the timeless lessons of General Marshall’s ethical leadership with today’s youth—particularly those from families who have served our nation so nobly.”
