Marshall Center To Host Free Summer Leadership Camp for High School Students

Registrations Open for June 24-26 “Camp Marshall” in Leesburg: Offers Students Fun, Interactive Experience

Leesburg, VA – On June 24-26, 2024, the George C. Marshall International Center will host Camp Marshall, a free summer leadership experience for interested high school students to learn about the center’s ethical leadership model and build teamwork skills in a fun, supportive environment. The camp will be held at Dodona Manor in Leesburg daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Registrations are now open to rising DMV juniors and seniors to learn lessons from one of the greatest leaders in U.S. history, mixed with stimulating and fun outdoor team-building activities, including scavenger hunts, “Choose Your Own Adventure,” team projects and more.

“General George Marshall knew that the future of our nation and our world depended on our young people,” said Marshall Center Executive Director Valérie Beaudoin. “We are eager to share his example with emerging high school leaders, who can shape our world for the better, and to have some fun along the way.”

Camp Marshall is ideal for high school students who are preparing to lead clubs, serve as captains of their sports teams or run for student government. The program is free to all participants. Space is limited, and interested students are encouraged to sign up today.

Additional Details:

  • Program will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

  • All meals will be provided.

  • Open to rising high school sophomores, juniors and seniors.

The camp will feature discussion of the three pillars of ethical leadership – selfless service, unwavering integrity and visionary leadership – as embodied by General George C. Marshall, who remains an inspiring example for future generations of leaders to study and emulate.

Camp Marshall builds on the Marshall Center’s Five Star Character Ethical Leadership Conference program for high school juniors and seniors, which is hosted by the Center each fall, winter and spring. Registrations are also open for the May 10-11 edition of this free conference.
